10 Things to Consider When Building a Modular Data Center
July 6, 2015Friday Fun Blog: Pluto Edition
July 17, 2015Welcome back to the Friday Fun Blog! It’s YA BOI Coly, and I want to thank Chris for taking over last week while I went on an impromptu vacation (Editor’s Note: Coly went back in time last week and somehow got his faced carved into Mt. Rushmore because God forbid he answers his phone or takes care of his responsibilities). I’m back, well rested and refreshed and ready to bring you the best links from around the web! This week’s Fun Blog is once again brought to you by Dave & Buster’s BECAUSE SOMEONE STILL OWES ME A NIGHT OF GAMES AND LONG ISLAND ICED TEAS (No. The answer is always no).
On to the links!
-How was your 4th of July? Was it as good as this guy who got arrested for ROCKING TOO HARD TO THE NATIONAL ANTHEM?! Didn’t think so, you traitor. We should vote for this guy in the election. ROCK N ROLLLLLLLLLL! God, all this needs is like a fighter jet flyby, maybe an eagle landing on some dudes arm and some fireworks overhead and this would’ve been the most surreal moment these people have ever been a part of.
-We go from ‘MURICA to heartwarming, as a Swedish professor has developed a prosthetic arm that is compatible with LEGOs that allow children with missing limbs to build their own attachments for the prosthetic and OH GOD WHY AM I CRYING?
-A diver attached a GoPro camera to the dorsal fin of a hammerhead shark to give a pretty awesome perspective on the life of a shark. Granted, you can’t actually see what the hammerhead is looking at, since its eyes are on the side of its head and that would be just a really weird video. Straight up, this looks like the most boring shark-based-3rd-person video game ever.
–Obligatory Space Post of the Week: What would it be like to fly in the Milky Way? Taking over 400,000 photos from the Spitzer Space Telescope, a YouTuber known as daveachuk compiled a fly through of our home galaxy if you had x-ray, gamma ray, infrared and night vision.
And finally…
-Ever want to know what some of your favorite drugs and remedies look like under a microscope? Well, here ya go. Caffeine is actually really pretty for something that gives me heart palpitations and anxiety.
See you next week!
