October 15, 2012Top Tech News this past Friday went to Romney’s unfortunate brush with Google Image Search
Apparently, the most important tech news this past Friday morning revolved around a Google Image Search. Go to Google Images and type in “completely wrong,” what do you see? My guess is that you will see something like this:
Yep, that is a whole Google search for “completely wrong” resulting in Mitt Romney photos. Do not worry; this is not a ploy to get you to think Romney is completely wrong but instead a result of people around the world associating an image of Romney with the phase completely wrong. This whole debacle stemmed from one quote Romney stated after a video came out where he was quoted saying he did not have to worry about 47% of the population. The exact quote, however, that gives rise to this search result is, “in this case, I said something that’s just completely wrong.”
Perhaps one of the most unfortunate search results, Romney’s completely wrong photo montage has made headlines news. What people have failed to notice is that Romney has the completely opposite problem when it comes to the Google Image search for “US President 2012.” Go to Google Images and type in “us president 2012,” what do you see now? Let me guess again, something like this:
Yep, now you see mostly Barack Obama images. It seems to me that in the online world, positive tags are being associated to Obama rather than Romney. Some Romney supporters are taking action by creating images of Romney that are associated with phrases such as “completely right” and “winner of presidential election” (but don’t include “2012” or it will result in Obama’s photos). But if Romney really wants to change his Google Image Search results he should invest in images of him with kittens and puppies. I mean, I got excited even talking about puppies and did my own little search:
Cute, right? Now if Romney was to have photos of him with puppies or kittens he might do better on social media outlets and Google. Unfortunately, when I went to look for a photo of “Romney with dogs” I got some unpleasant results:
So I guess Romney is not a dog person? Who knows… But for the heck of it, and to get a photo of our office dogs into a blog, here is a little gift for Romney:
UPDATE: After releasing this blog, our wonderful “Romney with Puppies” and “Romney with Puppy” images has made it way to the top of Google Image Searches. Now, thanks to my crazy tactics, Romney is now associated with puppies that do not dislike him! Yay! Congrats and feel free to search for Romney with Puppies and see our wonderful dog and images:

I love the dog picture. Romney needs more than a pup image. He needs a heart and brain transplant
